The races sow a real fight. Mirco Demuro, Luca Maniezzi & Davy Bonilla emerged from the group, after the exiting head to head with the Team companion Cristophe P. Lemaire. Although the Italian Team won 2 of the three races dedicated to Jockey Cup, on the basis of the sum of points gained on placements, the French “cousins” won the competition with 10 points more than the Italian Team. The Top Jockey 2009 Trophy finished with an ex equo result. In fact both Luca Maniezzi of Italian Team & Davy Bonilla of French Team shared the Title of Top Jockey and the relative jackpot offered by Sisal - MatchPoint SpA.

Me, Bruno Barberini, hearing the Mameli Athelm next to the greatest Jockey in the world? Yes, it is! It seams unbelievable, but it happened. “He” is Lanfranco “Frankie” Dettori, the Jockey who meets Sheiks & Queens almost every day, for two days gave the interviews and hundreds of autographs, posed for tens of photos and in the end said thank you to us for having had a great weekend with friends and colleagues, without agonistical pressure that he did not had since a lot of time. The same worlds we heard from little more discreet French jockeys, as honest as exuberant Frankie just because spontaneous and so we had the confirmation of the utility of our job and good execution of the Event. Contest Lady Fashion Day 2009 was one of the collateral events of Jockey Cup 2009 and its aim was to appoint the most Elegant Lady on the racecourse and reward her with a weekend “All Inclusive” in Belvita Hotel Adria of Meran. Well, after a careful selection, a Special Jury composed of a President Susanna Bordone, Beijing Olympic Games participant, the Mayor of Meran and the Chairman of the Tourism Office, chose the winner that you can see on the photo – the Winner of the 1st Lady Fashion of Jockey Cup. If it all goes as we hope, this greeting is only to tell you see you in next edition of Jockey Cup 2010, that we expect to realize even bigger and more exiting than the 2009 one, but to realize it we need the cooperation of everybody, just everybody, who believe in Gallop sound and sportive, where a real competition prevails on speculation and hypocrisy.
