The competition is based on 3 Races for Professional Jockeys. The competition's races are part of the Official Programme of Races in Flat of July 19th to be held in Meran Maia Racecourse, as published on its official web site in section "Technical Area" - Meeting Summer-Autumn 2009, with the participation of UNIRE.

The aim of the competition is the assignment of
Jockey Cup 2009 & Top Jockey 2009 - "SISAL - MATCHPOINT" Trophy.

The 3 Races dedicated to Jockey Cup 2009 which are highlighted and commercialised with the words Jockey Cup 2009 and will keep the features and prizes as in the Official Libretto provided by Meran Maia Racecourse, authorized by UNIRE.

For the assignation of the mounts of the 3 competition's Races of the participating horses in the Jockey-Horse matching, the "Lottery Formula" is foreseen.

The Competition is reserved to the Jockeys invited by BluLine Races and Merano Maia SpA.

If the number of running horses during one of the Competition Races will be lower than the number of the invited to the Contest Jockeys, it will be necessary to form the groups of jockeys who will be matched to the starting horses following here under described rules:

1.	the Jockeys coming from abroad will be always included in the group of running Jockeys;
2.	there will be drawing between the Italian Jockeys for the remaining mounts;
3.	in the case the races with the number of running horses will be lower than the number of the invited to the Contest Jockeys will be more than one, the Italian jockeys who were not appointed by the drawing in the previous race will run in the next race;
4.	the further drawing is foreseen if there will by the equal number of appointed by the previous drawings jockeys;
5.	in the urn there will be the numbers corresponding to the list of invited jockeys mentioned above;
6.	the first drown jockeys will be matched with the first horse starting from below with the compatible weight

The pointing system for each of the races (achieved between the Jockey Cup Jockeys):


The points assigned to the 3rd Race "Final" in the Jockey Cup
programme will be counted twice.

In the case of even between two or more jockeys, the points will be given according to the arithmetic average of the not considered placements. In the final ranking, in case the two Teams achieve the same score, the team with higher number of victories and/or better placements will win the Contest.

The result of the Races will non affect in any way the assignment and the distribution of the Official Jackpot of the Prizes, the additive Prizes and Trophies of each Race, as established by UNIRE.




The Special Ranking of "Top Jockey 2009" will be hold (on the basis of the sum of points scored by each single jockey) in order to appoint the Winning Jockey of the Individual Ranking with:
